Education and Training According to the US Census Bureau, 48% of the county’s population over the age of 25 has at least some college education. A total of 22,269 residents are college degreed, while an additional 25,298 adults over 25 have some college including 5,393 with associate degrees. An additional 22,404 adults have high school degrees. This translates to a large, educated labor pool, easily trained to your specific needs.
Las Cruces is the home to New Mexico State University (NMSU), the state’s second largest university, as well as Doņa Ana Branch Community College (DABCC) with seven (7) branch campuses in the county. These offer superior educational opportunities, both academic and technical.
NMSU Recognition
Current enrollments for the main NMSU campus are over 16,000. Approximately 33% of these are Doņa Ana County residents. The following tables give some sense of the workforce available from NMSU.

The College of Engineering at NMSU houses the Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center (M-TEC) that provides free services to local companies with economic development potential.
Doņa Ana Branch enrollments are approximately 5,500, including the main campus and six satellite branches within the county. Courses are offered in a variety of general education and technical trade skills. Doņa Ana Branch also offers a Customized Training Program (CTP). The program offers personalized training programs to students to specifically meet the needs of the employer. DABCC offers training in the following areas: computer technology, business skills, technical trades training, management and supervisory skills, and personal and professional development.
Customized Training Program Customized Training focuses on employee development and peak team performance. Every aspect of a course may be tailored to meet the specific needs of an organization, including course topic and content, location, length, and time. A course may be held on one of their campuses or at the work site, and at times adjusted to fit employee work schedules.
Contract Training Programs have been developed for, and provided to, local banks and business, federal agencies, the public schools, government contractors, and state and local governmental agencies, as well as grant-funded projects. Training areas have included computer skills, management and supervision, and customer service.
Business Training Seminars Topics usually include business, computers, and professional development.
Community Education Courses The Community Education Program offers courses that develop skills and abilities for the workplace. These courses are of short duration, usually spanning only a few days or weeks. Topics include: Introduction to PC's, Windows training, Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, Public Speaking, and Beginning and Intermediate Spanish.
