West Mesa Industrial Park Click here for map The West Mesa Industrial Park contains 1,820 acres and is located on Interstate 10, eight miles west of downtown Las Cruces and immediately south of the Las Cruces International Airport. The Industrial Park is an excellent location for light industry, general manufacturing, aviation related and technology based industries serving Dona Ana County, El Paso, and the US/Mexico border. The City of Las Cruces currently has 1500 acres of land available within the Industrial Park and is dedicated to bringing in industries, warehousing and manufacturing businesses that will expand and diversify the local economic base and provide new jobs for the community. Las Cruces represents a quality of life alternative to cities directly on the border with a better trained, well educated work force.
The Industrial Park is being developed to expand and diversify the local economic base, to provide new jobs in the community and to generate activity which would both benefit from and be beneficial to the adjacent airport and the proximity to local high technology resources such as New Mexico State University, White Sands Missile Range and the National Aeronautics Space Administration's Johnson Space Center-White Sands Testing Facility. The proximity of the Industrial Park to local industry resources, such as the favorable local labor pool and the positive economic climate of southern New Mexico make this a suitable location for any type of vibrant, growth oriented industrial development.
The Industrial Park features wide thoroughfares and industrial quality streets and utility infrastructure. Building and site design features masonry buildings in most areas with wide setbacks creating an open environment. Each site features appropriate landscaping refinements and design parameters. Most industrial sites have unrestricted views of the Organ and Franklin Mountains to the east, and Magdalena Peak to the northwest. The eastern third of the Park experiences spectacular night-time views of the Las Cruces city lights.
Three sub-zones of the Dona Ana County Foreign Trade Zone No. 197 are located in the immediate area. There is a 43-acre zone in the northwest quadrant contiguous to the airport for aviation and airport-related businesses. Also in the northwest quadrant, there is a 23-acre zone to serve existing industries. South of Interstate 10, there is a 150-acre zone. This area is designated for a variety of industrial uses, including warehousing.
